Job summary We have vacancy for a part time Senior Sister/Charges nurse to join our senior nursing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed leader with exemplary communication and interpersonal skills, who is an excellent role model and passionate about quality, safety and innovation. The post holder will be responsible for providing strong visible leadership, coordinating unit activity and supervising staff within the Critical Care unit. You will act as an effective role model, supporting the unit leadership to ensure that a high standard of care is delivered to patients and relatives and carers are supported. You will be responsible for the daily flow of acute admissions, discharges and transfers working closely with the site management team, theatre staff and medical staff. The role is high profile and requires you to lead and manage a team of nurses with varied skills and experience. The post holder will be expected to support the Unit Manager, Clinical Lead and Divisional Management in ensuring both local and national quality targets and key performance indicators are met. You will be expected to be a role model for the team and committed to improving patient outcomes. You will be a strong and effective leader, be able to ensure a smooth patient journey through Critical Care and into the wider Trust, planning and delivering appropriate care for admissions and discharges, quickly identifying clinical problems and taking appropriate actions as well as deputising for the Unit Manager and other colleagues in their absence.
