Harvey Group Practice is currently looking to expand their busy reception team and recruit a receptionist, on a full or part-time basis for 30-37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, to support the heavy workload and pressures in primary care.
Main duties of the job
1. Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery.
2. Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the practice.
3. Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments.
4. Action requests received from patients and local pharmacy team received by email.
5. Enter patient information on to the computer as required.
6. Provide flexible cover for members of the reception team during periods of sickness and annual leave.
7. Be responsible and resourceful whilst working under pressure.
8. Remain calm along with the ability to work as part of a busy team having a flexible and co-operative approach to work.
On arrival at the practice, all personnel are to complete a practice induction programme, which is managed by the reception manager.
About us
We are a busy, large training practice with 7 GP Partners and 5 Salaried GPs based in central St Albans and also with a branch site at Jersey Farm. Shifts will principally be at Jersey Farm but will include working at both our surgeries. With a list size of approximately 14,500 patients, we support an extended clinical team using our premises including pharmacists, physiotherapists, social prescribers, and midwives, supporting our patients. You will be joining a supportive, friendly, approachable, and committed team. Our clinical system is EMIS Web.
