Main duties of the job
1. Lead training and development of new starters in the pharmacy department.
2. Develop and update training packages in line with pharmacy needs.
3. Evaluate staff progression and feedback.
4. Assist in the training, development, and mentorship of apprentice ATOs and technicians.
5. Undertake TAQA/NVQ assessor qualification and other relevant training qualifications.
6. Co-ordinate training for pharmacy, medical, and nursing staff on the use of the EPMA system.
7. Maintain sufficient knowledge of dispensary systems to effectively deputise and support the senior technicians with daily departmental operations.
8. Provide cover for other Lead Pharmacy Technicians.
9. Participate in the safe and efficient dispensing and supply of medication.
10. Supervise and mentor staff.
11. Plan and implement education sessions for pharmacy staff.
12. Assist in any relevant audits.
13. Promote the professional image of the pharmacy by ensuring that the standard of dress and behaviour reflects the professional service provided by the department.
14. Participate in annual personal development review and agree to training objectives set.
15. Maintain continued professional development (CPD) as required by the GPhC.
16. Comply with trust policies including confidentiality, personal and patient safety.
