We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, compassionate, and highly motivated pharmacy technician to work within our fantastic team. The post holder will be responsible for the organisation of the day to day service provision of the anticoagulation services working very closely with the Lead Pharmacist - Anticoagulant Clinic and the rest of team.

This role requires excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. Relevant experience and good written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Main duties of the job
* To provide anticoagulation management of patients under the care of the BTHFT Anticoagulation clinic including anticoagulation dosing and the education of patients / carers with attention to adherence and concordance issues.
* To regularly use computer systems such as DAWN AC computerised dosing system.
* To develop training packs relevant to the area.
* To be responsible for the supervision, training and validation of competence of the trainee pharmacists, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with regard to direct oral anticoagulant (DOAC) counselling and warfarin counselling.
* To undertake audit/ quality improvement projects as directed by the Lead Pharmacist - Anticoagulant Clinic.
* To write procedures/policies relating to the Anticoagulation service in conjunction with other appropriate staff and managers. Delivery and implementation of agreed procedures and monitor compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Contribute to and implement service developments ensuring change is managed smoothly.
* Ensure quality monitoring is carried out and reported appropriately i.e. error monitoring, time in therapeutic range for vitamin K antagonist patients, service delivery monitoring.
* Liaise with GPs, community pharmacists, external organisations and colleagues in order to improve the care of patients on anticoagulants.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* NVQ3 in Pharmacy Services or BTEC equivalent level qualification.
* Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC.
* Nationally recognised accuracy checking qualification.
* Member of the APTUK.
Experience
* Significant experience of Technical pharmacy service delivery post qualification acquired through NVQ3 in Pharmacy Services or BTEC equivalent level qualification plus specialist training and experience to degree or equivalent level.
* Experience of supervising or mentoring staff.
* Experience of working in a similar role.
