Business Development Executive – The Insurer
This position is based in London, UK with hybrid working available.
Looking to use your multimedia sales experience in a new setting? Want to help leading organisations achieve their global marketing objectives by working at one of the best-known insurance and reinsurance publications? This might be the role for you...
Reuters has acquired World Business Media Limited, a cross-platform, subscription-based provider of editorial coverage for the (re)insurance industry. This acquisition is in line with Reuters' strategic priority to provide must-have news and insight for new customer markets and professional verticals.
This team provides must-have content and insight for professionals working within the global (re)insurance and specialty markets. Our products include The Insurer, the go-to and digital source for news, analysis and data on the (re)insurance industry and The Insurer TV, which brings exclusive insight and intelligence on the market through video interviews, panel discussions and mini docu-series. Through our events business, The Insurer Events, we provide networking opportunities through a global series of events, conferences and awards ceremonies.
By combining World Business Media Limited’s specialized expertise in these markets with the global scale and reach of Reuters, we believe we can help uncover greater growth, advantages and actionable insight for insurance professionals across the globe.
We’re looking for a Business Development Executive to join our team in London to drive revenue growth across our non-subscription portfolio, that includes sponsorship, digital advertising and TV packages for our network, The Insurer TV.
Your main responsibilities will be to grow revenue by selling multi-media packages to insurance companies, brokerages, and industry vendors. You'll manage all incoming enquiries and lead generation activity and will be responsible for establishing the strategies and philosophies that will drive sales to achieve our targeted revenue objectives.
About the Role
As our Business Development Executive at The Insurer, you will:
1. Personally contribute to building pipelines and closing new accounts
2. Cultivate and manage strong business relationships with current and potential partners.
3. Contact prospective companies and individuals to initiate the sales effort (think insurance companies, brokerages and industry vendors).
4. Follow-up on leads generated by our marketing team.
5. Monitor competitor developments to shape a successful sales strategy.
6. Gain exposure to accurate and timely revenue forecasting, including pipeline management.
About You
To be our Business Development Executive, you will likely have:
7. Excellent communication skills. We're looking for someone who's comfortable representing the Reuters brand when engaging with other industry-leading businesses.
8. Demonstrable B2B sales and new business development experience, ideally with experience of selling sponsorship or digital advertising.
9. The desire to learn about new markets. Whilst we don't need you to have any prior experience of working in the insurance industry, we are looking for curious people that are open to learning about how insurance underpins a global economy, and how we can help our clients achieve their marketing goals.
10. A collaborative attitude. We're team players at Reuters Events and are looking for someone who can succeed both individually and within a team-based environment.
11. The desire to progress and develop your skills further. We have an excellent commission scheme that rewards your achievements and are keen to grow and invest in our sales team.
12. The ability to adapt to changes in markets and articulate potential solutions to a range of stakeholders over the phone, in person and on video calls.
