Role: Service Charge Accountant Location: Luton Hours: 9am to 5pm - 35 hours per week Salary: Competitive Salary dependant on experience The Job Role As a Service Charge Accountant you will contribute to our vision of being the leading residential property manager by: Working alongside Scheme Accounting team - Budgets, this role coordinates preparation and issuing budgets through our internal processes. You will also be responsible for the administrative side on issuing budgets ensuring accurate records can be accessed by our customers. This role provides an effective and efficient support to the operational team, and other internal departments. At month end you will be working alongside the year end accounts team to issue accounts - you will assist with the administrative activities ensuring we meet our ARMA S22 guidelines, delivering accurate records to our customers. This role reports to the Service Charge Accounting Team Leader - Budgets and has no direct reports. About You You have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounting environment and are looking for the next step in your career. You will use your strong communication skills to see and challenge information, ensuring a smooth budget preparing process for your team. Computer literacy is essential. You are customer focused and thrive in working collaboratively and in a fast paced environment. Main Responsibilities Prepare budgets in a timely fashion to send to Operations Carry out the necessary tasks to ensure a smooth budget process Resolve issues on budgets and ensure a quality service is provided to internal customers/clients Deliver to department productivity metrics and contribute to the team and organisational goals Liaise effectively and strengthen relationships with Operations to ensure budgets are processed in time as per business requirement Adopt a proactive approach at all times/ Maintain clear and accurate communications to line manager and the wider business. Ensure the budget workflow tracker is updated at all times Take full responsibility for own portfolio and development, contribute positively and effectively to the team through creative ideas, tested processes or feedback from colleagues. Any other tasks as and when required to enable smooth running of the department. Skills and Experience Demonstrate experience of delivering excellent customer service. Confident, articulate communicator – both orally and in writing, able to build relationships with internal customers. Self-motivated and organised, ability to work under pressure, able to prioritise and manage time effectively. Work towards a professional qualification (AAT / ACCA) would be an advantage but not essential. High attention to detail with the ability to see and challenge information. Ability to work independently as well as a team player, demonstrating working towards a common goal. Experience in using excel/proficient in working with formulae Who are we?
