This role will support the business in reviewing complex method statements and risk assessments and coordinating the activities. Ensuring conflicts are identified and confined space entry activities can be completed in a safe and secure manner.Supporting Water and Waste network activities regarding complex and high consequence isolations and diversion. What you’ll be doing as an Independent Authoriser Align Health & Safety documents or create new ones where required to ensure corporate risk is controlled. Ensure guidance, documents, and processes work across the whole of the business. Ensure risks and hazards are understood, mitigated where possible and controlled. Risks are to be reduced to a safe and acceptable level (ALARP). Ensure guidance, documents, and processes work across the whole of the business sharing learning and influencing future practices. Identify and brief front line staff our contractors and management teams requiring support to share learning gained from investigations or incidents Assist in updating/managing Health & Safety documentation and processes to align managing the company’s corporate Critical risk of “Failure to manage Confined Spaces”. Presenting findings to senior managers and up to director level. Become an SME For confined space and have an in depth knowledge of associated hazards and risks i.e. Working form height, manual handling, COSHH, traffic management, lifting operations inc LOLER/PUWER regulations. Base Location: Beckton - Hybrid Working Pattern or hours: 36 Hours What you should bring to the role Water and/or Wastewater network operations or process experience. Expert knowledge of Confined Spaces and how this risk interacts with the water industry. Good knowledge of Health and Safety risks associated with general working practices. Able to present to and influence all levels of staff and management to gain support for continued improvement. IOSH/NEBOSH general certificate or ability to gain the qualification in role.
