Working within the UKIT Digital team at Bupa, the Senior Sitecore Developer will be an expert in their field with strong proven experience of both development in the Sitecore platform and high volume, high traffic digital applications built in C# .Net MVC. How you’ll help us make health happen: Development of new or existing applications and solutions in line with application designs, development standards, methodologies, and strategic architecture frameworks. Working as a lead alongside technical SMEs within projects of varying scope and size. Provide input to solution design teams regarding technical breakdown of applications, impact analysis and validation of proposed solutions. Be able to spot problems prior to development or serve up solutions to combat issues as they arise throughout the lifespan of a project. Evaluate existing products and solutions to propose practical improvements; taking ownership and working with colleagues and business owners to implement changes. Drive improvements to development practices and technical documentation. Take ownership of maintaining and expanding development standards within your technical domain. Working closely with business owners and solution designers, lead development of proof of concepts to ensure end to end solutions are fit for purpose. Investigate and propose the establishment of new technologies and methodologies that can improve development practices and products. Take ownership for resolving domain specific related problems, which directly or indirectly impact on operational services or development activities. Manage implementation activities, change control and release planning. Take ownership of improvements for internal documentation of products and technical solutions. Become the point of contact for technical and domain specific support for other teams within your technical domain. Establish and maintain credibility and working relationships with other teams within Bupa, being an ambassador for Bupa IT within the business community, supporting a customer service culture. Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role: Knowledge and experience of a broad range of technologies or expert in a single technology, including: Strong and proven development experience in C# .Net MVC. Certified Sitecore developer (version 10 or above) with strong understanding and experience across multiple versions and scenarios, including an understanding of available modules (such as Glass. Mapper), ideally a Sitecore MVP. Knowledge of unit test methodologies. Understanding of development design principles (DRY, SOLID). Familiarity with development processes (TDD, BDD). Implementation of transactional or content-based websites. Integration of APIs (backend systems) and identity providers. Understanding of dependency injection and other programming methodologies. Experience of delivery on MS Azure. Strong communication skills, good team leader and team player. Experience of working in VSTS alongside mixed teams including contractors and outsourced vendors.
