P b Description Purpose of Role: /b br/ To provide professional, timely, cost-effective and practical legal advice and support to business/function /p br/ p b Critical Responsibilities: /b br/ Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and HSES Procedures br/ Provide legal advice and, when necessary, manage outside legal services on various commercial, regulatory and strategic issues that may affect the Company /p br/ p b Ethics and Compliance Responsibilities: /b br/ Ensure that all activities and behaviours are carried out in accordance with our clients Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures, and to complete any compulsory compliance training as required /p br/ p b Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence: /b br/ The role is broad and will involve a variety of work, including some or all the following activities: br/ /p ol li Proactively contribute to the delivery of the scorecard, ensuring legal risks and commercial opportunities are managed appropriately /li li Provide pragmatic and practical advice and guidance to the business (often, but not always, unsupervised) on all legal matters /li li Contribute to and lead the assessments of risk on significant commercial opportunities, business decisions and HSEQ /li li Effectively communicate all relevant legal and regulatory policies, processes and procedures throughout the businesses /li li Effectively draft, negotiate and review a wide variety of commercial agreements and proactively handle various matters through to resolution /li li Support the Line Manager and General Counsel in execution of the above, including by supervising the work product and learnings of less experienced team members /li li Any reasonable instruction from the Line Manager /li /ol br/ p b Critical Skills, Qualifications, Experience, etc.: /b br/ Qualified solicitor in England & Wales or Scotland br/ Strong academic background and capable of applying jurisprudence in real situations br/ Extensive knowledge of Oil and Gas operations in the UK including UK regulatory framework, Joint Venture agreement structures, oil and gas transportation arrangements, gas sales and construction and tie-in arrangements br/ Knowledge of Ethics and Compliance procedures br/ Ability to supervise and positively influence less experienced members of the team br/ Influencing, negotiating and facilitation skills br/ Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and with both internal and external stakeholders with diverse cultural backgrounds br/ Excellent interpersonal skills br/ Precision, rigour and attention to detail br/ Awareness of HSEQ Policies and Business Management System (BMS) br/ Promotes Values & Business Principles and Policies & Procedures br/ Ability to interface directly with Senior Management /p
