We are currently looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor (Cost Recovery) to join our Customer Service Department on a permanent basis. This role will be based at our head office, working closely with the Customer Service, Finance, and Commercial teams to ensure efficient cost recovery and recharges.
About the Role
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include managing and maintaining the recovery of Customer Service recharges across the business. You will collaborate with the Commercial and Finance teams to recoup all contra charges from subcontractors, maximizing cost recovery.
Your key responsibilities:
1. Managing the Customer Service cost recovery process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
2. Overseeing and reviewing the Customer Service Cost Recovery function for financial accuracy.
3. Processing backdated logs of notified Customer Service costs to ensure all recoverable charges are captured.
4. Supporting the Commercial team with ad hoc tasks to facilitate business operations.
5. Delivering reporting and control processes efficiently, aligned with evolving business needs.
6. Proactively suggesting improvements within Customer Service and Commercial functions to enhance efficiency.
What You’ll Need
We seek a detail-oriented and proactive professional with strong organizational skills and a methodical approach to cost recovery. Previous experience in a Customer Service or Commercial environment within a housebuilder or main contractor is essential. You should have excellent organizational, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy. Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for maintaining precise financial records and ensuring effective cost recovery.
Experience with Evision software, Microsoft 365 Dynamics, or Clixifix is beneficial.
