We are seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to join our dedicated team in Oldham, providing essential support to students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. Role Overview: As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with students, teachers, and pastoral staff to promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning. You will play a vital role in de-escalating challenging situations, providing one-to-one and small group interventions, and fostering a nurturing and structured environment where all students can thrive. Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting students in managing their behaviour and emotions effectively
* Implementing behaviour support strategies and de-escalation techniques
* Building positive relationships with students to improve engagement and well-being
* Assisting in the development and delivery of tailored intervention programs
* Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and parents to support individual student needs
* Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting behaviour
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Knowledge of de-escalation techniques or training in Team Teach (desirable but not essential)
* A passion for making a difference in the lives of young people
