The Finance Team supports the organisations delivery of its mission, strategic priorities and business objectives. While utilising their ERP system, the team is responsible for effectively managing and planning the organisations financial resources, identification of sustainable funding streams, as well as accurate and timely financial statutory and management reporting. The Role The role of Finance Manager will report into the Head of finance whilst also playing a key role across the financial planning and reporting function and throughout the business. This role will give a part or newly qualified accountant the opportunity to not only work on business-as-usual activities across the breadth of the organisation but also have a significant impact on improving processes and making the function more efficient and accurate. The successful candidate will apply analytical skills and offer financial insight which will bring them to bear on a broad range of business challenges. You will be involved in but not limited to the following duties: Preparation of accurate monthly management accounts to agreed timetables. Support budget holders and managers in their understanding and interpretation of the management accounts. Assist Head of Finance with preparation of annual budget and longer-term financial projections. Support the Head of Finance, Finance Director, and other Senior Managers in carrying out of their financial management by the provision of a proactive finance service. Assist project managers with ad hoc reports, budgets, and grant applications. Produce finance reports for submission to funders and contractors. Prepare revised budgets as required. Supervision of purchase ledger, sales ledger, and cash book. Successful completion of month end processes, journals (including allocation of timesheets) and reconciliations. Day-to-day treasury management and assist Head of Finance with longer-term treasury and investment management. Preparation of financial information for annual external audit Develop, implement, and improve operational financial procedures appropriate to the organisation. Assist Head of Finance in ensuring the charity continues to comply with VAT regulations. Advise managers and staff on correct VAT treatment of different income and expenditure items, particularly those involved in tenders and bids. Ensure correct calculation and payment of quarterly VAT - and year-end reconciliation. To be considered for the role you must: Be Part Qualified ACCA, CIMA, ICAS or similar (Ideal candidates will be 12-18 months away from being qualified. Significant experience of providing advice and support to managers to support decision making. Proven experience of effective and timely reporting of financial information. Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with a broad range of people including explaining complex financial information to non-finance professionals. High level of computerised finance systems and excel skills ability to work to tight deadlines. Be passionate and interested in helping people. Have the ability to work with minimum supervision. Be meticulous with an eye for detail. On Offer The role of Finance Manager will offer a starting salary of £45,000 - £50,000 with an excellent benefits package including flexible hybrid working and generous holiday allowance.
