Permanent, variable hours based at our Children’s Home for Children with additional needs, in the Hengrove area of Bristol.
We are seeking individuals who are not only enthusiastic, motivated, and creative but also passionately dedicated to nurturing the development and well-being of children who may have learning difficulties and complex health care needs within a secure and enjoyable environment.
As a Residential Child Care Worker, you will collaborate with the Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, and other RCCWs to curate a joyful experience for children living at the children’s home. This involves providing opportunities for new experiences, imparting independent living skills, and fostering the formation of meaningful friendship groups outside their familial settings.
Our children’s home supports children aged 5 to 18 with severe learning disabilities and/or complex physical health needs, potentially presenting negative behaviour which challenges. To ensure that the child and everyone around them is safe, the team provides various training packages to build required skills and confidence. The home is fully equipped to offer a diverse array of activities, including sensory play, both indoor and outdoor engagements, culinary experiences, and other activities which ensure that the child living here has the same fulfilled life as they lived at home with their parents.
Join our team, where we eagerly await new members who share our commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of the children we support. We operate on a 24-hour shift pattern with rotas available six weeks in advance. Your role will encompass a variety of shifts which may include days, weekends, evenings, sleep-ins, and bank holidays. Your dedication to this role will contribute significantly to the well-rounded care and support provided to the children.
You will be expected to work a range of days to include weekends, evenings, sleep-ins, and bank holidays.
Please note that this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.
