Role
The Plan Vivo Foundation (PVF) is currently looking for a Communications and Administration Officer. The main focus of this role will be to provide support across PVF's offerings, through working with and assisting the Communications Coordinator and the Operations Manager.
The successful applicant will work as part of the PVF Edinburgh operational team (the Secretariat) and will be line managed by the Communications Coordinator. The most suitable candidate will be someone with good written skills and some marketing experience. They will also need to have administrative experience and not be frustrated by rolling standardised and organisational tasks.
The role is based in Edinburgh. It is full-time, but part-time will be considered depending on the ability and availability of the candidate. The role is based in Edinburgh; however, the candidate does not necessarily need to be located within Edinburgh. We will accept applications from remote workers, although our preference would be for the successful candidate to come into the Edinburgh office at least once a week.

The Community Links Worker programme, funded by EVOC & Edinburgh Health & Social Care Partnership, is delivered in partnership with GP Practices and the 3rd sector to support people to live well through strengthening connections between community resources and primary care.
The Community Link Worker (Maternity Cover) will be employed by Edinburgh & Lothians Greenspace Trust and will work as part of three practice teams (Gracemount, Liberton, and Inch Park) in the South East locality of Edinburgh to provide 1:1 person-centred and practical support to people in contact with the GP practice team.
Taking a person-centred approach, you will work with individuals to enable them to identify personal outcomes and priorities for their health and well-being and link them to local, city, and national activities and support services.
The postholder must have experience of working with people who are facing complex social and emotional circumstances, a strong understanding of the challenges affecting people living in areas of disadvantage in relation to living well, extensive effective interpersonal skills in working with people on a 1:1 basis as well as experience in networking and relationship building with other professionals and organisations.

The Sustainable Inshore Fisheries Trust
The Sustainable Inshore Fisheries Trust (SIFT) is a Scottish charity (Registered Scottish Charity No. SC042334) which promotes the sustainable management of Scotland’s coastal seas ('inshore waters') so that they provide the maximum long-term benefits to all coastal communities.
To meet its aims, SIFT commissions research into the sustainable management of inshore waters, from which it develops management measures and proposals for inclusive stakeholder representation that it advocates to Scottish policymakers. Policy Officer
SIFT is seeking to recruit a Policy Officer to work on the development and implementation of its projects. The Officer would report to SIFT’s Executive Director and will focus on research, development and advocacy of marine management policies. SIFT is an equal opportunities employer.
Candidate
The ideal candidate would have experience working in policy advocacy in Scotland, ideally related to environmental or natural resource management, and hold a marine biology or environmental or natural resource management qualification.
Key skills would include:
1. Experience of policy advocacy, ideally within a Scottish context

3. Outstanding communication skills, through written and oral formats
4. The ability to develop and manage relationships with funders and other partners
5. Experience of working in marine and/or environmental management.
The Policy officer would undertake the following core duties:
1. Identify, develop and contribute to research that underpins policy proposals
2. Engage with fishery, community, and other marine stakeholders
3. Assist the development of Policy Briefings and responses to public consultations
4. Represent SIFT at meetings, including with the Scottish Government and its officials, Members of the Scottish Parliament and their staff, and other marine stakeholders
5. Engage with the media.
Other duties
Reflecting the small size of SIFT’s team, the Policy Officer would also be expected to:
1. Contribute to the management of SIFT’s website and social media channels
2. Support colleagues with the governance of the charity (e.g. re board meetings, statutory reporting, fundraising, etc)
3. Assist with other administrative tasks associated with SIFT’s workstreams.
Term
Full-time 18-month contract with possibility of extension thereafter.
In the region of £30,000 dependent upon experience and hours agreed.

Pension. Paid in compliance with SIFT's workplace obligations.

The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (RCPE) seeks applications from senior administrative professionals to coordinate the external adviser service on behalf of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges and Faculties in Scotland.
Background
NHS Consultants are senior medical specialists. NHS Consultant recruitment in Scotland is governed by the National Health Service (Appointment of Consultants) (Scotland) Regulations 2009, which provide for a single external adviser on each consultant appointment panel.
External advisers are nominated by the Royal Colleges and Faculties that comprise the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges and Faculties in Scotland (Scottish Academy). The Scottish Academy is responsible for maintaining a list of trained external advisers and identifying an appropriate external adviser for each consultant appointment panel in Scotland, on request from the recruiting NHS health board. External advisers are drawn from a pool of Fellows and Members of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and are working consultants in a range of specialties themselves.
The Academy of Medical Royal Colleges and Faculties in Scotland (Scottish Academy)
The Scottish Academy is a group of representatives from the Medical Royal Colleges and Faculties in Scotland. The Scottish Academy contributes to improvements in the health of the people of Scotland by the promotion and coordination of the work of the Medical Royal Colleges and Faculties, giving the medical profession a collective voice on clinical and professional issues. The main objectives of the Scottish Academy include:
1. To ensure patient safety is maximised by maintaining and improving standards within the profession.
2. To provide a coordinated voice from the specialties in relation to education, training, clinical standards and effectiveness and research and quality which are supported and promoted by all constituent members.
3. To coordinate and exchange expertise across the Colleges and Faculties in all areas of training, medical education and revalidation.
4. To support improved medical workforce planning in Scotland to recruit and retain the highest quality doctors.
The Role
The Academy External Adviser Senior Coordinator is employed by the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (RCPE) on behalf of the Scottish Academy. The main function of the role is to ensure that an appropriate external adviser is identified for each consultant recruitment panel in Scotland, within a specified time period.
The Academy External Adviser Senior Coordinator has an important ambassadorial function to play on behalf of the Scottish Academy and is the first point of contact and support for external advisers and health boards in relation to the service provided. There is a strong emphasis on remote communication with external advisers and NHS staff, requiring excellent general IT and remote communication skills. The role requires diplomacy and tact, to handle sensitive information and situations.
An MS Access database is used to hold the list of external advisers and record information about each appointment panel request.
The Scottish Government requires a comprehensive annual report for the project and regular updates are compiled for meetings of the Scottish Academy. In addition to the requisite writing skills, the reporting component of the role requires an understanding of MS Access, particularly in relation to queries in order to extract data.
The Person:
The post-holder will require the following:
1. Excellent organisational skills.
2. The ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively when several appointment panels are convened simultaneously.
3. Analytical skills to summarise quality assurance output and competency in trend data analysis.
4. Ability to handle highly confidential material with tact and sensitivity, particularly when dealing with complaints and problems arising relating to local implementation of recruitment guidelines.
5. Ability to deal with complex enquiries.
6. A flexible and inclusive approach and be a strong team player.
7. The ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues in the College, external stakeholders, and organisations.
8. Ability to use initiative, exert judgement and work independently with minimal recourse to advice or assistance.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
10. Advanced keyboard skills including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook with some experience of database design.
