The Glasshouse International Centre for Music in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear, is looking for a part-time In Harmony Coordinator for their Make Music, Artist Development, and Contemporary department. This role is on a fixed-term contract until 31st August 2024.
The In Harmony Coordinator will be responsible for the administrative planning, coordination, and pastoral care of the In Harmony programme, a community-based orchestral music-making initiative. This includes managing after-school activities, events, resources, and programme logistics. The role involves working closely with the In Harmony Manager, Musicians, and Tutors, and focuses on ensuring that the programme effectively serves the needs of children, young people, and their families.
Applicants must have professional experience in planning and coordinating events or educational programmes, strong organisational and communication skills, and a good understanding of safeguarding in educational contexts. An interest in music and education, along with the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively, is essential. Experience in an arts setting, knowledge of orchestral instruments, and familiarity with specific software systems are desirable but not required.
The position requires working 28.8 hours per week, including some evening and weekend work. The salary is £24,073 pro rata per annum. Applications should be submitted by 9am on Friday 26th January 2024, with interviews scheduled for 31st January 2024.
