Head, Wealth Management

Founded in 2007, our client is one of the fastest growing banks of their kind in the UK. They offer personal and corporate savings products and finance for UK residential and commercial property, in addition to sourcing and advising on UK real estate investments.
Office hours are Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm with a 1-hour lunch.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To provide active input to the overall business management, growth, strategic development and leadership for Private Banking.
2. To drive attainment of key performance targets (Wealth management operations, revenue, new client additions, Product offering development enhancements, etc.), attract and retain high-value clients, and grow the Wealth Management business with a heavy focus on client satisfaction metrics within our target market.
Leadership Responsibilities:
1. Promote strong and effective working relationships and communications within staff, ensuring that staff are motivated, developed and supported.
2. Working with Head of Private Banking to develop the team’s Business Strategy – shape and support development of the business strategy, including periodic performance reviews.
3. Ensure the growth and profitability of the Private Banking Wealth Management Portfolio through solicitations and referrals and the judicious selection of Client Portfolios.
4. Develop Sales Leads generation from internal sources, group, client referrals and personal network.
5. Drive the accurate assessment of client risk profile, suitability and appropriateness for Wealth Management Service.
6. On board clients for private banking products and services in accordance with UK and company procedures and regulations.
Technical Responsibilities:
1. Proactively manage the clients’ investment portfolios by applying a range of portfolio management techniques.
2. Promote the education of clients in the wealth management space and provide financial advisory services to enhance the quality of their investment decisions.
3. Review client profiles to ensure investments are in accordance with mandates, risk profiles and risk appetites.
4. Oversee and ensure the flow of clients’ transactions and investments portfolio is in accordance with client’s mandate and risk profile.
Competency Supervisory Responsibilities:
1. Provide supervisory function within WM and Advisory Business Unit, ensuring relevant regulations adhered to for competence sign off of potential Advisors.
2. Liaise with the Bank’s external supervisor to ensure strict adherence to the T & C with regards to attaining competency.
3. Ensure that the competence standards are upheld and maintained whilst capturing and maintaining the documentary evidence.
4. Actively involved in assessing, developing, monitoring and reviewing competency status of all advisors within WM business unit.
Service Responsibilities:
1. To develop dispassionate and objective relationships with third party fund managers and professionals e.g. law firms, property specialists and tax advisers.
2. To be an ambassador for the bank both in the UK and externally and at all times when required to travel on business.
3. Supervise activities of middle office and back office to ensure timely and efficient service delivery to private banking.
Key Skills/Experience:
1. Experienced banker and investment specialist.
2. International background, ideally with direct experience of the West African market Existing client relationship/network in the non-domiciled market.
3. Exceptional client relationship management skills.
4. RDR Compliant - level 4 or above FCA approved qualification.
5. Able to demonstrate commercial instinct in building opportunities into revenue. Outstanding communication skills.
