Security and Traffic Officer
Brize Norton, Carterton, Oxfordshire, GB, OX18 3LX
Full Time, Permanent (42 hours per week)
Salary £27,102.97 plus benefits
Shift work
- 2 x Days 12 Hrs/2 x Nights 12 Hrs followed by 4 Days Stand-down, one of which is a contracted (and rostered) Duty Cover shift.
Here at Serco, we are currently recruiting Security and Traffic Officer based at RAF Brize Norton. This role is responsible for the effective delivery of the Serco contracted security/reception duties under the instruction of the security shift supervisor as directed by the security manager.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Maintain a record of daily duties in a pocketbook which will be maintained daily and may be requested to recall incidents in a Court of Law.
- Control the access and egress of vehicle traffic, military personnel, visitors, contractors and Unit employees at the RAF Brize Norton main gate.
- Control the flow of traffic/pedestrian.
- Checking ID cards and vehicle permits to ensure only permitted individuals gain access to the unit.
- Assist in the search of vehicles, visitors and baggage when delegated.
- Provide welcoming service ascertaining the requirements of individual visitors, contractors or deliveries and on the production of the relevant ID.
- Respond to and carry out emergency procedures as and when delegated.
- Provided a vehicle escort service to delivery/collection vehicles for specific locations on site.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- UK Driving License for car (essential) no more than 6 points.
- Be able to hold a colour perception category of the required standard to enable the Issue of an Airfield Driving Permit.
- Be willing to complete Security Industries Authority (SIA) licencing training.
- Be willing to complete UKSV security clearance.
