Reimagine the possibilities Your role and responsibilities As Practice Manager, you will: be managing teams that provide specialist services to families and children across Suffolk, who have an allocated social worker be responsible for specialist provisions across three services: the Make A Change Team, the Harmful Sexual Behaviour Service within Children and Young People's services, and the Positive Choices Team. Your role will also involve: strategic planning and representing these teams in county forums analysing trends and patterns in relation to case work to ensure the best delivery of services offering consultation to other professionals and social workers and teams as well as external professionals and partners attending forums across the county to ensure social care teams are up to date with research and practice in these specialist areas supervising staff on a wide range of issues in relation to the specialist areas of practice. The teams The Make A Change Team offers a countywide service for children and young people who are at risk of, or are victims of child exploitation. The team covers all areas of child exploitation, including concerns for child sexual exploitation, criminal and/or sexual gangs and groups, missing episodes, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, radicalisation and modern-day slavery. The Harmful Sexual Behaviour Service within CYP works alongside social care teams to offer support and services to children who are showing worrying sexualised behaviours but are not subject of any court order, as those children are managed within the youth justice system. The Positive Choices Team work with adults who have suffered the loss of a child through adoption or long term alternative care. This team specifically works with parents to avoid repeat pregnancy and therefore trauma related to loss. You will need a Social Work Qualification, registered with Social Work England and have a minimum of 3 years post-qualifying experience in adoption, front line or relevant childcare settings evidence of continuing professional development in a management role a management qualification (Desirable) experience of supervising or mentoring staff effectively, ensuring good practice and successful outcomes the ability to manage resources effectively, ensuring quality of delivery and within the allocated budget experience of quality assurance processes, with the ability to interpret data and act on findings to be able to lead on practice, and support professional development of the teams.
