The closing date is 22nd Jan 2025
Job summary
Here at Heartlands Hospital we have an exciting opportunity to join our team of 10 Echocardiographers. As a large DGH, we have 6 echo rooms within the hospital and support echo services within a newly opened community diagnostic centre. Full-time members of staff operate over a 4-day working week between hours 8-6 and use both Phillips and GE, 2D and 3D technology with ISCV reporting facilities.
Current Echocardiographer-led services include bubble, LV contrast, valve-surveillance clinics, and Echocardiographer-led Tran-oesophageal echo, and we are working towards Echocardiographer-led stress echo services.
We actively encourage staff CPD and offer a range of developmental opportunities in clinical and non-clinical areas, including course/conference attendance, management and leadership development programs, and teaching, training, and assessment qualifications.
As part of a large trust, we have good relationships with all 3 additional hospital sites and support a range of training programs including PTP, STP, ETP, as well as in-house echo trainees. We have an excellent track record for supporting people through the BSE accreditation, including Adult TTE, TOE, Stress, and EACVI CHD accreditation.
As part of your role, you will perform and report adult transthoracic echocardiograms to support inpatient and outpatient services. You may assist or train to perform/lead advanced echo procedures such as bubble and LV contrast studies, stress, and transoesophageal echocardiograms. In addition, you will support outpatient clinics at a nearby community diagnostic centre on a rotational basis. Our department offers a 4-day working week between the hours of 8-6.
