Graduate Revit Engineer
Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and talented Graduate 3D Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will work alongside senior engineers to develop, manage, and deliver detailed 3D models and designs using the 3D Design Software (Autodesk Revit). This role will contribute to high-impact projects in the power systems sector which require detailed integration of complex systems from different engineering disciplines. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical expertise, gain valuable experience in the energy sector, and grow within a forward-thinking engineering company.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Revit Modelling & Design: Use Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD Civil 3D and similar software to create and modify 3D models for power system infrastructure, including substations, renewable energy facilities, and transmission/distribution networks.
* Collaboration: Work closely with senior engineers and other project team members to ensure models and designs meet project specifications, client needs, and industry standards.
* Drawing Production: Assist in the production of high-quality engineering drawings and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements. Careful eye for detail required and the ability to do hand drafted sketches will be expected during the design process.
* Project Support: Provide technical support in the design and development of power system projects, contributing to the successful completion of transmission, distribution, and renewable energy designs. This support comes in the form of working within a Project team, often alongside a Lead Engineer.
* Quality Assurance: Maintain a high standard of work, ensuring models and drawings are accurate, up-to-date, and delivered on time. Document Control and Information governance are key aspects to carefully control as a Design Engineer.
* Learning and Development: Continuously develop your skills and knowledge of Revit and engineering design practices, participating in relevant training and professional development opportunities. Development in Civil Engineering & Structural Design leading to progression for membership with the Institute of Civil Engineers.
* Software Proficiency: Develop proficiency in Revit and other engineering design software as required, ensuring effective use in project delivery. Software self-learning is critical for this role.
Skills and Experience:
Educational Qualifications:
* A degree (or equivalent) in Structural or Civil Engineering, or a related discipline such as Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Design, and Power System Electrical Engineering.
Skills and Experience:
* Intermediate experience or knowledge of 3D Design Software Revit software (preferably in an engineering context).
* A keen interest in Civil Engineering Design, Architecture, and Infrastructure.
* Knowledge of the UK Power Systems challenge and Net Zero ambition with Renewable Energy.
* Knowledge of UK British Standards and Eurocodes relevant to Civil Engineering & Building Design.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality designs.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Full UK Driving Licence, held for over 2 years.
Desirable but not essential:
* Familiarity with other CAD software such as AutoCAD or BIM-related technologies.
* Experience in Substation design or working on transmission, distribution, or renewable energy projects.
