M&E Clerk of Works – site-based, Reading£50 per hour (experience dependent) + average 45-50hr week (outside IR35) + min 12 month contract + travel time + overtime rates + overnight accommodation allowance + highly skilled, collaborative team environmentM&E Clerk of Works responsibilities include: * Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and other project documentation to understand the design intent and requirements * Conduct regular site inspections to monitor the progress and quality of mechanical installations, such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems * Verify that materials, equipment, and workmanship comply with the approved specifications and drawings * Identify any defects or non-conformances and work with the contractors to ensure timely corrective actions are taken * Maintain detailed records of site inspections, test results, and any issues or deviations from the approved plans * Attend project meetings and provide updates on the status of the mechanical systems * Coordinate with other trades, such as electrical and building services, to ensure the mechanical systems are integrated properly * Review and approve contractor invoices and change orders related to the mechanical scope of work * Ensure the mechanical systems are tested and commissioned according to the project requirements * Provide guidance and support to the client or project manager on mechanical-related mattersM&E Clerk of Works profile: * Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field * Minimum 5 years of experience as an M&E Clerk of Works/NEC3/NEC4 Supervisor or in a similar role * Professional membership of ICWCI (Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate) preferred * Previous or current Security clearance OR Security clearance eligible (last 5yrs living & working in the UK required) * Thorough understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection * Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, specifications, and other technical documents * Strong knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards * Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills * Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with contractors, clients, and project team members * Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and prioritiesIf the above ongoing M&E Clerk of Works long-term contract looks of interest and you have the qualifications and experience required, then please get in touch and one of our consultants will contact you
