Priory Hospital Newbury are seeking to recruit a dedicated and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist/Medical Director to work on our new 18 bed acute ward to work with the new team at this exciting time. This role offers a rare opportunity to develop a new service and to provide high-quality psychiatric care within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment in collaboration with Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust (BHFT). As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping patient care and contributing to the ongoing success of our services.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead a team consisting of a Consultant Psychiatrist, 2 Specialty Doctors and a Physical Health Nurse/Nurse prescriber.
- Provide expert psychiatric assessments and treatment for a diverse patient population.
- Lead and manage patient care within your specialty, ensuring the highest standards of care.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, therapists, nursing staff and colleagues in BHFT.
- Engage in clinical governance and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in on-call rotations, ensuring continuous high-quality care. The rota will be shared with an acute hospital in the south, Priory Hospital Southampton.
- Foster relationships with external stakeholders and maintain a network of professional contacts.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant clinical guidelines and regulatory standards.
- Commit to ongoing professional development and meet Revalidation requirements.

You must have
- Full GMC registration with specialist registration in psychiatry.
- Extensive experience in [specific fields/substance misuse/psychiatry].
- Strong knowledge of Clinical Governance and adherence to regulatory frameworks.
- Successful completion of an enhanced DBS check, provided by Priory Newbury.
