About the Role
As the Director of Water Services (Regional), you will be an integral part of the Water Services Leadership Team, reporting to the Managing Director of Water Services. You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of Water Services in your regional area, directing and developing teams to meet key strategic priorities:
* Water quality and resilience
* Net zero and environmental gains
* Affordability and customer service
Through strong, visible guidance you will ensure exceptional operational performance, drive health and safety excellence, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Leadership & Culture: Inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing team. Champion the company’s values—Be Rock Solid, Be You, Be the Future—and create an inclusive, results-driven environment.
* Safety & Compliance: Ensure a strong safety culture, reducing risks and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Asset Operations & Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and operation of assets, ensuring network resilience, compliance, and efficiency while maintaining asset health.
* Customer Operations: Work closely with Customer Strategy & Operations teams to ensure a customer-centric strategy and service excellence.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, industry bodies, and community representatives.
* Continuous Improvement: Drive standardisation of operational and maintenance processes, championing efficiency and innovation.
* Crisis Management: Provide direction during high-severity operational incidents, ensuring swift resolution and mitigation.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven Leadership: Demonstrable experience in managing and coaching large, multidisciplinary teams.
* Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the water services sector, including regulatory frameworks and technological advancements.
* Commercial Acumen: Ability to blend considered thinking with strategic insight to enhance business growth and service delivery.
* Stakeholder Management: Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence and engage cross-functional teams.
* Risk & Compliance Management: Experience in risk assessment and ensuring adherence to industry best practices and legal requirements.
* Excellent Communication: Ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Degree-level education or equivalent professional qualification, ideally supported by an MBA.
* Full UK driving licence.
