A leading ultra-high-end fit-out and refurbishment contractor known for excellence in delivering bespoke projects that define luxury and who have had a portfolio featuring some of the most prestigious developments in the industry are actively seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for an iconic refurbishment of a Luxury Hotel.
They pride themselves on their commitment to quality, innovation, and client satisfaction. Currently, they are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team for an iconic luxury hotel fit-out in the heart of London's West End.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cost Management:
1. Develop and manage comprehensive budgets for the project, ensuring all costs are tracked and reported accurately.
2. Monitor and control costs throughout the project lifecycle, advising on potential financial risks and opportunities.
2. Tender Processes:
1. Lead the preparation of detailed tender documents, including bills of quantities, schedules, and specifications.
2. Evaluate and analyze tender submissions from subcontractors and suppliers, providing recommendations to management.
3. Contract Administration:
1. Manage all aspects of contract negotiation and administration, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
2. Address and resolve contractual disputes or claims in a timely and effective manner.
4. Financial Reporting:
1. Prepare and present detailed financial reports to senior management, including cash flow forecasts, cost-to-complete estimates, and variance analysis.
2. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data to support strategic decision-making.
5. Value Engineering:
1. Conduct thorough value engineering assessments to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining the high standards of quality and luxury expected in hotel fit-outs.
2. Collaborate with design and project teams to optimize project design and execution.
6. Stakeholder Engagement:
1. Act as the main point of contact for clients, architects, and project managers, fostering strong relationships and ensuring clear communication.
2. Facilitate regular stakeholder meetings to review project progress, budgets, and any challenges that may arise.
7. Site Visits:
1. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress against the project timeline and budget, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications.
2. Identify potential issues early and implement solutions to keep the project on track.
8. Team Leadership:
1. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior quantity surveyors and other team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
2. Lead by example in promoting best practices in quantity surveying within the team.
Candidate Qualifications:
1. Education:
1. Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
2. MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or equivalent professional qualification would be advantageous.
2. Experience:
1. A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in quantity surveying, specifically within high-end fit-out and refurbishment projects.
2. Proven experience managing large-scale projects, ideally in the luxury hotel or hospitality sector.
3. Communication:
1. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to diverse stakeholders.
2. Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills to foster collaborative working relationships.
4. Problem-Solving:
1. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
