I am working with an Inspiring Pupil Referral Unit that is looking for Outreach Behaviour Mentors. Their focus is on nurturing and supporting their students with SEMH to help them become confident adults with a real sense of purpose. This setting is part of a highly respected Multi Academy Trust rated Outstanding by Ofsted, and their ethos is that every young person should have the opportunity for the best possible chance at an education.
In This Role, You Will:
1. Establish trusting relationships with students, acting as a role model and advocate for their well-being.
2. Help students develop positive behaviour strategies and coping mechanisms to navigate social, emotional, and academic challenges.
3. Lead group activities and outings designed to build confidence, teamwork, and social skills.
4. Work closely with teachers and school personnel to create individualized support plans for students.
5. Guide and support other Engagement Mentors in providing effective student support.
6. Transport students to activities and potentially to and from their homes in various parts of Essex.
What We're Looking For:
1. A background in youth work, education, or a related field is desired.
2. The ability to connect with young people from diverse backgrounds and build positive relationships is crucial.
3. This role requires someone who is energetic, proactive, and passionate about making a difference.
4. Proven ability to guide and support young people in their personal and academic development.
5. Must be comfortable working flexible hours, including some evenings and potential weekends.
6. Driver's license and access to a vehicle is essential: The role involves transporting students across Essex.
