Job Description
Venesky Brown is collaborating with their client, a prominent civil engineering contractor that have secured several new projects for substations, overhead lines, and subsea cable routes across the North of Scotland for their key client, SSEN.
Responsibilities:
* Site Surveys & Precision Setting-Out: Conduct site surveys, set out, and level to establish precise reference points, ensuring accurate positioning of structures and infrastructure.
* Interpretation of Technical Documents: Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documents to guide construction activities, ensuring full compliance with project requirements.
* Collaboration & Coordination: Liaise with the design team, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve technical queries, clarify specifications, and facilitate the timely delivery of materials and equipment.
* Quality Monitoring & Inspections: Monitor and inspect construction work to verify compliance with design standards, specifications, and quality requirements, identifying and addressing any deviations as they arise.
* Technical Support & Guidance: Provide technical support to site operatives, subcontractors, and junior engineers, assisting with problem-solving and resolving technical challenges on site.
* Project Documentation & Compliance: Assist in the preparation of method statements, risk assessments, and other project documentation in accordance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
* Record-Keeping & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily diaries, progress reports, and as-built drawings, to document project progress and ensure traceability.
Requirements:
* Educational Background: Degree or diploma in civil engineering or a related field.
* Relevant Experience: Prior experience in a site engineering role within the construction industry, with a strong understanding of construction techniques, processes, and materials.
* Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using surveying equipment, CAD software, and other engineering tools and technologies.
* Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to interpret complex technical information and make informed decisions.
* Communication & Teamwork: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the capacity to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
* Health & Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality management systems.
