About the role
As a Cook at MHA, you will be responsible for managing the efficiency, hygiene, and safety in the catering area, organizing and supervising other staff in the kitchen while maintaining HACCP principles and ensuring legislative standards are met. Prepare, cook, and serve meals for residents daily, respecting their rights to privacy, dignity, and choice. Plan menus to provide nutritionally balanced and attractive meals, and accommodate any special diets. An experienced caterer with good planning, budgeting, and stock control skills is required. You will also be involved in taking stock of ingredients and creating new recipes to keep the menu fresh!

About you
* You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work under pressure while using your creativity in meal preparation.
* You will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving meals for residents, visitors, and staff daily, including catering for ad hoc events. This involves following recipes and knowing basic techniques for handling various food types.
* Ability to multitask and understand the workflow of the kitchen is essential.
* You will be working in the homes of the individuals you are cooking for, allowing you to understand their preferences and dislikes.
* You must be able to cook within budgets.
* You should be able to maintain a positive working environment and motivate the kitchen team to deliver excellent results.
