SALES MANAGER
HYBRID / BEDFORDSHIRE
£Open (depending on experience) +10% Performance Based Bonus + Uncapped 5% Commission
Our client is a leading manufacturer of injection-moulded components for the packaging, logistics, and warehousing industries.
They are seeking a dynamic Sales Manager to play a pivotal role in driving new business growth while managing existing customer accounts in a balanced 50/50 capacity. This position offers a blend of autonomy and support, with the freedom to leverage your sales expertise alongside the internal sales team.
Work Schedule:
2 days in the office
2 days with clients
1 day working from home
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Sales Development & Lead Generation: Identify and develop sales targets to drive growth. Generate and qualify new business opportunities through outbound calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, and in-person meetings.
2. Client Relationship Management: Schedule and conduct meetings with potential and existing clients, virtually and face-to-face, to understand their needs, build strong relationships, and offer tailored solutions.
3. Proposals & Negotiations: Create and present customised quotes and proposals. Negotiate pricing and specifications to close sales effectively.
4. Account Management & Retention: Manage and nurture existing customer accounts to maximise retention and upselling opportunities. Re-engage lapsed accounts to generate additional revenue.
5. Internal Collaboration: Partner with relevant departments to ensure smooth onboarding, project execution, and delivery of services.
6. Trade Representation: Represent the company at trade exhibitions and events, enhancing the organisation's market presence and reputation.
7. Travel & Client Engagement: Travel to client appointments across the UK when needed, balancing in-person interactions with virtual meetings via Teams or Zoom.
8. CRM & Reporting: Utilise CRM systems to track leads, monitor sales progress, and manage client interactions effectively.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience in new business development or a sales-driven role, ideally within the packaging industry.
2. Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
3. A demonstrated track record of developing and successfully executing account plans.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
5. Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset.
