The SEN Teacher Role
I am recruiting for a dynamic, engaging, creative and passionate SEN teacher for one:year classroom teaching role teaching a highly rewarding and fun primary aged cohort of 8 ASD/SLD/Complex Needs pupils in an exceptionally well run and pleasant North West London SEN school. Whilst this post will initially be for a year the Headteacher has made it clear that there will be opportunities to progress to a full contract due to the schools growing provision.
The profile of the class group is for pupils with Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Complex Needs. The role will be offered on a long term basis with a minimum commitment sought through to the end of the academic year. The successfully appointed SEN Teacher will take on full class teaching responsibility including planning and delivering lessons, assessing pupil progress/attainment attending staff meetings and line managing support staff.
The School
This outstanding North West London SEN school provides for pupils who have a range of special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) including severe and profound and multiple learning difficulties and autism spectrum conditions (ASC). There is a large and increasing proportion of pupils with complex needs, including significant medical needs. Pupils follow one of five curriculum and assessment pathways according to their needs.
This North West London SEN school has a very diverse population with pupils coming from many different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. The school is community based, integrating national health service specialists, a teaching school and the research and development centre. The school delivers a wide range of specialist training for SEND provision and initial teacher training. The school uses its extensive local, national and international partnerships with community and educational bodies, to engage in research and development to promote innovative practice to improve holistic outcomes for all.
