A great opportunity for an experienced Procurement professional to join a growing organisation as a Senior Procurement Category Manager.
Role responsibilities include:
1. Act as a business partner to various departments depending on specific categories in scope, understanding business strategy and providing creative challenge and thought leadership which influences and supports business decision making.
2. Develop and maintain clear category plans for all spend areas, aligned to the business objectives, which identify a pipeline of procurement opportunities.
3. Use internal and external technology category data, relationships and insight to formulate a clear point of view on business investment decisions.
4. Lead in the delivery of a breadth of procurement initiatives, using best in class sourcing solutions such as e-Procurement, e-auctioning and strategic sourcing.
5. Lead on behalf of the business in high-value, complex commercial and contractual negotiations, working with stakeholders, Finance and Legal to close negotiations with contracts which fully protect the business' commercial and operational risks.
6. Lead category Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activity to ensure strategic supplier management is considered in all purchase decisions.
7. Ensure compliance with corporate policies.
8. Participate in the creation, evolution and implementation of the Procurement strategy.
9. Take personal accountability in developing the teams and individuals across the Procurement function.
Key skills required:
1. Extensive Procurement experience across a wide range of categories.
2. In depth understanding of contract law, category management, negotiation, market dynamics, commercial strategy, and strategic sourcing.
3. Strong stakeholder management skills.
4. Leadership experience of developing complex, category, budget, and supplier strategies.
5. Exceptional relationship building abilities with the ability to communicate complex challenges in simple terms.
6. Strategically minded with the ability to translate a vision into clear methodical plans.
Hybrid working available - minimum 2x days per week required in the office.
