Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer to join their firm.
About the role:
To deliver geotechnical engineering expertise on various projects and offer support on other projects where geotechnical expertise is required.
Responsibilities:
1. Work with the team to provide specialist geotechnical knowledge to our civil structures design teams.
2. Experience of HDD and other 'no-dig’ technology designs and experience working on renewable projects.
3. Production of geotechnical investigation specifications, Geotechnical Investigation and Design reports per Eurocodes.
4. Foundation, retaining wall, earthworks and pile design amongst others.
5. Undertake Design Risk Assessments & prepare specifications for ground investigations.
6. Input into civil engineering tendering processes.
7. Coordinating the production of tender deliverables.
8. Working in office and travelling to sites.
Requirements:
1. Civil Engineering and (near) Chartered.
2. Minimum of 8 years’ experience working on civil structure projects where geotechnical expertise was a key/integral component of the design.
3. Experience within civil design environment preferably within a consultancy environment.
4. Full UK driving license and be willing to travel throughout the UK to various sites.
5. Excellent attention to detail.
6. Good communication skills.
7. The ability to confidently present ideas, opinions and solutions.
8. Experience of infrastructure projects, preferably rail or power sectors.
