JOB DESCRIPTION
The Inventory and Order Picker will be responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring the proper storage, documentation, and tracking of goods in a warehouse environment. Their role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and availability of stock to meet operational and customer demands. This role is also responsible for selecting, retrieving, and packaging products from the warehouse to fulfill customer orders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management: Conduct regular stock counts (physical inventory counts) and reconcile discrepancies. Update inventory records in the database or system to reflect stock movements.
2. Receiving and Storing Goods: Inspect incoming goods for accuracy, quality, and condition. Ensure products are labeled correctly and stored in the appropriate locations for easy access.
3. Data Entry and Documentation: Record stock movements in inventory. Report on inventory levels, discrepancies, and order statuses. Maintain detailed records of transactions and stock adjustments.
4. Order Picking: Use picking lists to locate items in the warehouse. Accurately pick, pack, and label orders according to customer or sales requirements. Ensure correct product selection and quantities based on orders.
5. Inventory Audits: Assist with cycle counts to ensure accurate records. Identify discrepancies and report issues to supervisors.
6. Organization and Cleanliness: Keep inventory areas neat, clean, and organized to facilitate easy retrieval of goods. Implement safety protocols to ensure the safe handling of stock.
7. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as purchasing, logistics, and sales, to ensure efficient stock management and fulfillment of orders.
8. Quality Control: Ensure that products are stored correctly and do not get damaged. Ensure double-check of picked items is done before final packaging. Identify damaged or obsolete items and arrange for returns or disposal.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Basic knowledge of inventory management systems (e.g., ERP software, spreadsheets).
* Attention to detail and accuracy in picking, counting, and recording stock.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Physical stamina for lifting, moving, and organizing stock.
What is expected of you:
* Hands-on experience in trades, like the manufacturing industry.
* Able to work under minimal supervision and resourceful.
* Good physical shape, able to work in a standing position for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds using safety procedures.
* Available for day shifts on weekdays.
* Capacity to learn a wide array of manual tasks.
* Forklift experience is considered an asset but not required.
