ML73- Principal / Associate Transport Planner.\n\nSalary: £50,000- £79,000.\n\nLocation: Reading.\n\nOverview:\n\nFirst Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Principal / Associate Transport Planner on behalf of one of our clients.\n\nOur client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities:\n\nResponsibility of delivery of transport planning projects, including day to day management of projects and clients, fee proposals, change control and invoicing\nProviding transport planning advice to colleagues and clients\nResponsible for developing excellent client relationships and securing repeat work\nPreparation of technical reports and presentations as required in line with company and client requirements as well as national standards and codes of practice\nWorking in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design and the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects\nLiaising with the Project Partner and client to keep informed of all developments associated with the project\nSupporting the Discipline Partner to develop and grow the team\nOverseeing analyses relating to transport planning and design projects including CAD, GIS, transport modelling, spread sheet and proprietary modelling coding and interrogation\nAssisting in the resolution of complex technical issues\nDocument management, including drawing registers\nMonitoring and managing project budgets and programmes\nSkills and qualifications:\n\nDegree or relevant experience in transport related/numeric subject (e.g., Transport Planning, Mathematics, Geography, Civil Engineering), or equivalent\nAn excellent knowledge of the principles of transport planning including a detailed understanding of policy, relevant design standards, and the requirements of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans\nTeam player and leader, self-starter and problem solver with 'Can-do' attitude\nConfident and outgoing individual\nClient focused with good interpersonal skills and collaborative working approach with a high level of commitment to quality\nRelevant experience, including a range of projects across the sectors, preferably within the private sector\nCommercial awareness and the confidence, ability and experience to provide clear, authoritative advice\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nStrong analytical skills\nCompetent in the use of Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Project\nA detailed understanding of TRICS for trip generation, the fundamentals of trip distribution, and assessment skills using Junctions 10 and LinSig, CAD, road safety engineering, junction design and assessment.\nMember of the Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation or Transport Planning Society or an equivalent professional organisation\nFull current driving licence\nSalary: £50,000- £79,000.\n\nLocation: Reading
