About The Role We've got an exciting opportunity in the Internal Communications and Engagement function for a Culture and Engagement Manager to join the team, on a fixed term/secondment basis until mid August 2025. The successful candidate will be working as part of a job share on a three day a week basis (Wednesday -Friday). You'll lead the delivery of an engagement and culture framework to enable our people to actively contribute to the Society's success; and act as passionate ambassadors for everything we do. Reporting to the Head of Internal Communications and Engagement, you'll be working collaboratively to shape the culture that supports us to achieve our ambitious goals as an org both now and in the future. Designing initiatives to engage and involve the widest range of people and continually learning to make an even bigger impact for people affected by dementia. It is a varied role that includes employee and volunteer voice: designing and delivering programmes and activities than enable us to listen, involve, and act on the voice of our people. Connecting our audiences top-down, bottom-up, and in lateral peer groups and communities. You'll be innovating and using evidence based engagement planning and development that understands and evaluates the needs, motivations, challenges and experiences of our people and use this to inform and advise on longer-term strategies to develop engagement and culture across the Society. You'll also be supporting the Head of Internal Communications and Engagement to design, and then independently manage the delivery of our culture development programme: engaging our people in shaping and contributing to a positive and authentic results driven culture. You'll work closely with our senior leaders to inform a compelling corporate narrative to help our people understand where we are going, why, and the role they play in shaping culture. You'll also have direct line management of a Culture and Engagement Officer, and work with them to ensure a regular rhythm of engagement through forums such as our Volunteer Advisory Panel and Employee Forum to continuously improve the way in which we listen and act on feedback. This is a homeworking role, but you will be required to travel to attend some meetings and team-days, so you must reside in the UK, have the correct right to work documents to work in the UK and be comfortable/willing to travel to our flagship offices (London or Birmingham) if/when required. About you Be passionate about all things culture and engagement. Exceptional and first-class communication, planner, and influencer with a diplomatic yet determined approach in all your professional relationships. Ability to ensure robust governance around a range of listening mechanisms and associated decision making that supports them Proven track record of change management communications and engagement practices Experience of managing mass evaluation programmes across multiple channels: focus groups, surveys, engagement events, digital channels, network feedback. Plus, processing and making accurate conclusions from data and feedback and designing and implementing action plans as a result. Ability to create, deliver and coach others to deliver effective engagement programmes aligned to well-defined strategic outcomes. Above all, you'll be focused on the end result, the outcomes and results we deliver. Person specification Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
