The Westmorland and Furness Council Occupational Health team has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Health Nurse. Our team provides organisational and individual advice on all aspects of occupational health, and we are passionate about ensuring the wellbeing of our multi-disciplinary workforce.
About the Role:
As an Occupational Health Nurse, you will be working within the Occupational Health Team alongside our administrative team. We are part of the Enabling Services Directorate who provide a wide range of health, wellbeing, and advice services to employees of Westmorland & Furness Council, Cumberland Council and Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service.
This is a diverse and exciting opportunity for a motivated and competent Occupational Health Nurse, or this could be an exciting move for an experienced qualified nurse, looking to develop within Occupational Health.
You will be joining a well-established team, who provide statutory health surveillance, opinions on fitness for work and rehabilitation, and advice on legal compliance in OH matters. A large part of your role would be to work with the Highways team and the Fire Service, ensuring employees complete mandatory health surveillance, as well as working with the wider workforce, completing fitness to work assessments, and advising on the best support for employees. Our remit covers the whole county, and we are a strong and supportive team, always there to help each other with guidance and experience.

Who we are looking for:
The ideal candidate will be dedicated and proactive, with the ability to work both autonomously and as an active team member. You will need to have at least three years post First Level Registration (RGN) and experience in an Occupational Health setting is desirable. Competency is desirable in audiometry, spirometry, vaccinations, phlebotomy and HAVS.
