Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board's Corporate Affairs Directorate. This newly-created role will work as part of a wider team of governance professionals who are responsible for maintaining the highest levels of corporate governance within the West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board and its five Places.
Working with the Risk Manager, the postholder will support the work to ensure that the ICB has sound systems, policies and processes in place to manage all aspects of risk proactively. They will help ensure that the management of risk is fully embedded throughout the organisation.
The postholder will work with the Risk Manager:
- to ensure that the ICB has sound systems, policies and processes in place to manage all aspects of risk proactively;
- to deliver a high quality and integrated incident management service for the ICB;
- to oversee the investigation of any claims against the ICB; and
- to coordinate the ICBs access to high quality legal advice.
Main duties of the job
To support the establishment and management of effective corporate risk systems and processes for the ICB and provide specialist advice to the organisation on risk management and any nationally-required processes.
To work with the Risk Manager on the development of the ICB's Board Assurance Framework and corporate and place risk registers.
To work with directors and managers to identify areas of new and changed risk.
To maintain the ICB's risk management software tools.
To ensure that all risks included on the risk registers and assurance framework are described appropriately and include details of all relevant controls, assurances, gaps, and risk score.
To provide advice and support on all risk management matters.
To support the design, development, and implementation of ICB risk management arrangements to support internal developments and change programmes.
To work with the Risk Manager to develop appropriate risk management policies or update existing policies to reflect new developments.
To support the Risk Manager in delivering a high quality and integrated incident management service for the ICB.
To support the Risk Manager, Investigating Officers and Specialist Advisors (eg. IG, Health and Safety, Security) in the investigation and reporting of any incidents as required.
To support the investigation of any claims made against the ICB and liaison with NHS Resolution in relation to claims and the ICB's indemnity cover.
