The O.H. Physiotherapy Service is an Occupational Health Physiotherapy Service providing for NHS Lothian Health Board. The Service provides advice, assessment, treatment and workplace occupational support for the staff and management of NHS Lothian (approximately 28,000 people). The post holder would be based between St Johns Hospital and the Royal Edinburgh Hospital.
The Service sits within the NHS Lothian Occupational Health and Safety Services along with Health and Safety, Manual Handling, Staff Counselling and the Medical/Nursing services.
We require a highly experienced individual with proven musculoskeletal physiotherapy and leadership skills. As Area Lead OH Physiotherapist you will be responsible for a small team of OH Physiotherapists providing assessment, treatment and functional rehabilitation programmes including worksite assessment and ergonomic advice where appropriate for staff working for NHS Lothian. You will be one of four Area Leads responsible for the pan Lothian service delivery. You will be responsible for professional support and development of your team and more junior staff across the service as needs require. You will be actively involved in audit and the development of evidence based practice. You should have extensive experience at senior level of the management of musculoskeletal conditions and have, or have evidence of developing, knowledge and skills in the specialist field of Occupational Health. Post qualifying Occupational Health/Ergonomic qualifications would be desirable.
