Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust
We have an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified or established Occupational Therapist to join our friendly team of therapists at Forest Community Hospital. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the team and will work in a ward-based environment with home access visits as part of the role. In turn, you will be well supported with CPD opportunities to develop and grow as a therapist within our organisation.
Main duties of the job
The Forest Community Hospital is a brand new facility providing subacute care, rehabilitation, and end-of-life care to adults with varied and complex needs from within Gloucestershire. Our aim is to enable people to live as independently as possible, with a focus on rehabilitation and a person-led approach to achieve recovery and self-management. Much of the role involves assessment, goal setting, implementing rehabilitation programmes on the ward, functional practice, and coordinating safe discharges for the patients.
Job responsibilities
We provide a Multi-professional preceptorship programme aligned to the National Preceptorship Framework for Nursing. Our programme is provided to all Newly Qualified Nurses, Nursing Associates, Internationally Educated Practitioners, Allied Health Professionals, and Return to Practice Practitioners. Newly qualified Social Workers are offered the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment programme (ASYE) which is similar to a preceptorship programme.
