Salary: Support Staff Pay Scale F: £24,872 to £26,981 pro-rata per annum (Actual) (£27,711 - £30,060 full time/full year equivalent)
We are seeking to appoint a Careers Advisor to provide high quality, impartial careers advice for all pupils; to prepare them effectively for further education, employment or training. The successful candidate will have experience of working with young people or working in an advisory capacity.
This role will be based at Thetford Academy.
The main responsibilities of this role will include:
* Providing high quality, independent careers advice for all pupils to prepare them effectively for education, employment or training and working with the Central Strategic Careers Lead to implement a strategy for developing a careers programme for the school that meets all eight of the Gatsby benchmarks.
* Developing and maintaining strong relationships with the wider community, particularly businesses, to enhance events and workplace experiences.
* Providing students with valuable insights into local and national labour market trends, ensuring they are well-prepared for future opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Level 4 Diploma in Advice and Guidance or equivalent, and ideally a Level 6 qualification.
* Experience of working with young people or working in an advisory position.
* Ability to deal effectively with people, using tact, courtesy and patience.
* Good organisational and time management skills.
* Although Level 6 qualification in Advice and Guidance is desirable, if you do not hold this qualification, you will be expected to complete this training after appointment, possibly through an apprenticeship.
