Overview of the role
We are looking to expand our engineering team with the recruitment of an experienced Systems Integration Engineer. As a Systems Integration Engineer, you will lead Ilika’s management of its test systems for its next generation solid state batteries. You will work closely with cross-functional teams across our two sites, ensuring early resolution is managed. You will develop and implement system controls that meet rigorous automotive battery standards.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
* Develop and implement battery test systems
* Implement test scripts and automated test setups for efficient and repeatable validation processes
* Lead calibration management of test systems
* Support data analysis and interpretation to assess performance, identify issues, and propose design improvements
* Lead issue resolution and change management
* Participation in DFMEA, Design Rules, Work Processes and Documentation
* Opportunity to manage a small team
Job requirements
* A BSc, BEng or equivalent in Electronics engineering or equivalent industrial experience
* Knowledge of latest version of British Standard BS 7671 desirable
* Knowledge of electronics equipment construction and maintenance
* Experience of interfacing between equipment through both digital and analogue methods – communication protocols
* Knowledge of measurement techniques and test scripts such as four wire conductivity measurement and how to optimize data gathering is desirable
* LabVIEW experience and ability to maintain and develop systems is desirable, but must have capability to interface effectively with outsource specialists
* Knowledge of high current (>20 A) or low current (<500 uA) measurement systems is desirable
* Ability to define and specify test fixtures for electrical measurement
* Awareness of battery management and safety is desirable
* Willingness to learn new techniques and work with non-experts to improve measurement
* Understanding of battery system architectures, system controls, and circuit analysis is desirable
* Awareness of regulatory needs applicable to Cell approvals is desirable
