Part Time Variable Hours Tutor of Plumbing
Hours: part-time variable
Salary: Hourly rate: £24.51 (unqualified)* or £25.61 (qualified)* inclusive of holiday pay. Plus generous benefits. These include:

? Financial support towards teacher training course fees if you do not have a recognised Level 5 teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE) - worth up to £6,000 over two years
Plus, membership of Teachers' Pension Scheme
*the base hourly rate is £15.81 (unqualified) / £16.52 (qualified) per hour, plus payment for holiday and preparation and marking time, which gives an approximate hourly rate of £24.51 (unqualified) / £25.61 (qualified) per hour.
About the role
This is an excellent opportunity for the right person to join our vibrant and growing plumbing curriculum area. We have seen continued growth, especially in apprentices and this growth is forecast to continue.
We require the right person with the right experience for one day per week initially. This provides a fantastic opportunity to try teaching and experience the rewarding feeling, that sharing your skills with the next generation of apprentices will give you.
This is an exciting time to join the College, especially with the future growth in renewables and the Net Zero target. The role will involve providing excellent teaching and learning to our apprentices on the Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard.
The role will involve preparing and delivering excellent teaching, learning and assessment to a range of students at different levels and abilities. Tracking and monitoring of students while providing a safe working environment are also key to the role.
About the person
You will have strong industry skills and a wealth of experience of plumbing practices, and be qualified up to Level 3 including gas. You should be self-motivated and have a passion for working with young people in a supportive and instructive manner. You will have a flexible approach and be able to work as part of a team to deliver high quality teaching and learning.

We are a large, regional college serving a population across York and North Yorkshire of more one million people. Each year, we have approximately 4,000 school leavers, 1,000 apprentices, 2,000 adult students, and 400 higher-level students studying with us.
Our wide range of education options span entry level programmes through to degrees, higher technical qualifications, and accredited professional courses to courses for professional development. Our apprenticeships can be studied from level 2 to level 5 across a range of different career pathways. We are the largest provider of A-Level and vocational programmes for school leavers in the region; we offer nearly 35 A-Level subjects and over 80 vocational courses, including a wide range of T-Level pathways.
