The Role
We are seeking to appoint an experienced, ambitious, and highly effective Maths Subject Leader from September 2025. The successful candidate will have excellent subject knowledge and high expectations. This is a highly successful school with an exceptionally low staff turnover. This role is a unique opportunity for an experienced/ambitious teacher seeking a new and rewarding challenge.
We were recognised as a Good school by Ofsted in May 2022. In 2023 Wolgarston High School were top of Staffordshire with an average A level grade of a B+ and in 2024 results placed us 2nd in the county. Maths and Further Maths are very successful courses. At Key Stage 4 we consistently achieve P8 scores around or above +0.5 and are significantly above national on every headline measure at both KS4 and KS5. We are committed to evidence-based teaching and learning.
Maths is a team of experienced specialist teachers who are all committed to ensuring that students achieve their full potential and enjoy their learning. The Maths Department is a strong, supportive team.
