PHPRU The Limes Assessment Centre provides high quality assessment and teaching of young children aged 7-11 with a range of complex special educational needs, in particular autism.
The Management Committee of PHPRU are seeking to appoint one full and one part time Teaching Assistant to join the existing team at PHRPU as soon as possible. They will be committed to and enthusiastic about early intervention and maximising individual potential. These posts involve working alongside a range of professionals and families and therefore requires someone with an outgoing personality, a positive outlook on life and a willingness to undertake a range of tasks.
The successful candidates will gain experience of working with children with a range of abilities/medical needs predominantly those with ASD.
We are looking for someone, ideally, with a good understanding of our pupils' special educational needs and/or prior experience of working in education to:
1. Support teachers in delivering an appropriate and outstanding curriculum.
2. Support young children aged 7-11 years old to the end of KS2, who have complex special educational and health needs, both with class-based activities and over lunchtime.
3. Be able to maintain a positive approach when faced with challenges.
4. Support assessment within the provision.
5. Participate as a team member in the operation, promotion, evaluation and development of The Limes Assessment Centre and work collaboratively.
6. Ensure the safety and welfare of all pupils.
