An opportunity to join our busy well-established Estate Agent office in Matlock. We have been market leaders for over 25 years, and you will be part of a vibrant and friendly team of dedicated staff. The ideal candidate will have experience in bookkeeping and basic accounting principles, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills.
This role will report directly to the Managing Director.
Responsibilities:
* Manage the company's day-to-day financial transactions (Xero)
* Manage Payroll
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
* Generate financial reports including profit and loss statements, cashflow, etc.
* Monthly bank and credit card reconciliation.
* Maintain sales and purchase ledgers.
* Raise final account invoices.
* Make payments to landlords.
* Pay suppliers when required.
* Calculate and pay VAT quarterly.
* Communicate with customers and suppliers to resolve financial issues.
* Maintain supplier and utility contracts and insurances (PI, PL, Vehicle, etc).
* Check contractors' insurance.
Requirements:
* Comprehensive understanding of basic accountancy.
* Experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
* Proficient with Xero accounting software.
* High level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Work Schedule: 8 hours per week between Monday and Friday.
This position is permanent, part-time, office-based in Matlock, Derbyshire.
20 days holiday pro rata, not including bank holidays.
