Job summary The School of Oncology has a national and international reputation for delivering high quality learning and education to healthcare professionals. Staff across the department have a commitment to education development, including research and clinical expertise, working within a culture where education is embedded into the philosophy of the organisation. You will be responsible for the delivery of events services (including the Education Centre, Events and the Maguire Team). This will include service review and the development of continual improvement processes which inform key performance indicators. The postholder will also have particular responsibility for building relationships with industry and accessing a variety of sponsorship and grant opportunities. This will contribute significantly to the financial strategy for Christie Education by ensuring a funding model which underpins risk across the whole department. You will be a highly experienced events manager who can demonstrate effective leadership skills within service delivery. Main duties of the job The education events manager will lead a team of administrators, coordinators and AV technicians across the events services, overseeing the planning, development and delivery of an extensive portfolio of study days, courses and national conferences. You will be responsible for the delivery of a range of KPIs, in terms of financial targets and supporting the SoO Education Business Manager to deliver a robust pricing and income generation strategy for the service. You will manage the evaluation processes utilising a variety of tools, to develop effective reports on status and service development.
