Solutions Driven is hiring on behalf of our client, who operate in the Appliances, Electronic, and Electrical Manufacturing space, for a Head of Product Compliance.
We are looking for a Leader with extensive experience of Product Compliance and Regulatory Affairs to lead the Product Compliance Team, setting the vision, direction and goals for all team members in line with new product development activities and wider business strategy.
You will lead the resolution of significant or complex compliance and regulatory issues, establishing and implementing any resulting process improvements. Communicating effectively with all business functions, ensuring non-technical leaders correctly understand the impact of Regulatory and Product compliance issues and associated decisions are understood.
Responsibilities
* Manage and lead the Product Compliance Team
* Ensure internal and external resource is adequate to support regulatory research and
* product compliance design requirements for all current products and future projects
* Guide and mentor members of the team on regulatory, compliance and people matters
* Manage the risks associated with high level product compliance matters, ensuring full
* engagement of other business functions in addressing the impact and mitigations
* Ensure robust governance within the team for key deliverables
* Implement and drive people, career and engagement activity within the team
Please note it will be required to go into the Edinburgh office 4-5 days a week.

* Excellent and extensive knowledge of regulatory and product compliance principles
* Excellent knowledge and understanding of relevant technical disciplines
* Proven ability to communicate unambiguous regulatory concepts to the broader business
* Extensive understanding of different avenues of intelligence gathering and ability at engaging intelligence services providers
* The ability to communicate complex technical information simply
* Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
* Able and confident at influencing and motivating others
* Ability to work at all levels and to share knowledge

Desirable
* Experience working with EU SCIP
* Experience of Food Contact Materials testing
* Experience of maintaining supply chain compliance with respect to banned and restricted substances
* Familiarity with International standards, conformity assessment, approvals certification processes and associated legislation.
* Extensive understanding of different avenues of intelligence gathering and intelligence services providers and ability at merging them to provide a comprehensive compliance strategy
* Experience with the following will be beneficial: EN 498-1,cANSI Z21.89 / CSA 1.18, EN/IEC 60335-1.
