Head of Overseas Business Development
Our manufacturing client has enjoyed a sustained period of growth and as a result an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Overseas Business Development
Using market intelligence data, research and networking you will drive sales growth by identifying business opportunities with new overseas customers with a particular focus on expanding the company’s geographic coverage. This will include scheduled and unscheduled visits to prospective customer sites and offices.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Business Development professional to develop their career within an award winning local business, offering the potential opportunity to sit as part of the Senior Management Team.
This role will be based from company premises in South Down but also offers the opportunity for hybrid working.
Responsibilities:
1. Identify and pursue new overseas business opportunities, expanding the company's client base, initially with special emphasis on Asia, the Middle East and Pacific regions
2. Develop strategic business development plans to penetrate new markets and elevate brand presence.
3. Build and maintain long-term relationships with new customers, ensuring retention and driving business growth.
4. Develop new business through to maturity (at least 3 years) and ensure longevity of prospect through regular contact and robust planning and good management practices
5. Negotiate contracts with OEM and other major customer segments and manage finances of projects
Criteria:
6. Previous international business development experience at senior level (ideally APAC)
7. Good Microsoft Office skills – to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
8. Commercially astute and ambitious
9. Able to identify new opportunities and also gain management support through robust evaluation and presentation of all key factors
10. A self starter with the ability to work on your own initiative
11. Good communication skills with a strong customer focus
12. Flexibility to travel as required (up to 50%)

Salary is up to £80k (OTE) depending upon experience.
