The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service would like to invite applications for the post of ESMCP Training and Operational Evaluation Lead. This is a national post covering Scotland on an initial temporary basis for 24 Months. This is a full-time opportunity, working 40 hours per week. The post offers flexibility on working hours and has a working from home capability in some of its elements, although attendance at SFRS premises for meetings, presentations and training is required.
This is a full-time post however applications from individuals seeking to work on a part time, job share, or flexible working basis would be considered.
The postholder will be responsible for working with the Home Office ESMCP team, developing a training package for front line operational staff as well as control room operators. They will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of the package to SFRS, managing several training staff across Scotland. In the Operational Evaluation element, the candidate will be working alongside the Scottish Ambulance Service, Police Scotland and the Scottish Government to develop a testing and evaluation strategy leading to an acceptance criteria for the new system and its processes that will require to be signed off at Strategic Level. The post Holder will require to report to the Programme Board on a monthly basis and produce detailed reports relative to the areas of responsibility.
The successful candidate will be required to develop training packages for the Emergency Services Mobile Communications Programme introduction into Scottish Fire and Rescue Service working alongside SFRS training and the Home Office teams. There is a requirement to understand the Operational side of SFRS to ensure that the Provision of the Programme meet the needs of SFRS, and the provisions of the system (Elaborated Requirements) are evaluated, tested and reported on before a decision to move from Airwave to ESMCP is made at Executive level. The successful candidate will require to be capable of producing high quality detailed reports that will be presented and scrutinised at Tactical and Strategic level. Previous experience of working in or with an Emergency Service is very important in this role.
Training qualifications or evidence of equivalent experience required.
Applicants require to hold a full UK Driving licence as driving across Scotland is a significant part of this role.
Working hours are flexible (Monday to Friday 9-5), the post requires flexibility in return. Some evening work will be required off site at Fire Stations.
