Career Opportunity: Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor

Due to increased workload, we are now recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor or a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Highways Division who have substantial experience in delivering works on a strategic network for the Connect Plus M25 framework.
Main Duties:
1. Support and mentoring of junior staff
2. Maximise profitability on contracts
3. Monitoring contract costs against budgets
4. Identifying potential risks and evaluate options for control
5. Preparation of estimates
6. Procurement of sub-contractors, including preparation of sub-contract documents
7. Assessment and certification of interim and final payments to subcontractors
8. Preparation and agreeing main contract variations
9. Assist in the preparation of documents for resolution of disputes (adjudications/arbitrations and the like)
10. Ensure all work complies with quality, safety, and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedure
Must haves:
1. Ambitious individual with great communication skills, who is confident with a flexible approach.
2. Demonstrate innovative approaches to problem solving and the ability to negotiate across the various levels of any construction environment.
3. Handle the financial and mathematical demands of the role by possessing impressive numeracy and IT skills.
4. Possess programme management knowledge and have extensive contract knowledge.
5. Must have experience working on civil engineering schemes including Highways.
6. Experience as a QS or SQS working with the NEC form of contract.
