Field Service Engineer Overview: As a Field Service Engineer, you’ll lead equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for major UK and international military projects, ensuring optimal performance of cutting-edge naval systems. Key Responsibilities: Oversee pre-installation surveys, installations, and defect rectifications. Manage and coordinate equipment fitting, working closely with internal and external teams. Lead system commissioning and prepare for installation inspections, including Harbour and Sea Acceptance Trials. Plan and execute both sea and land-based trials. Perform annual maintenance and health checks. Investigate and resolve technical issues both domestically and internationally. Prepare detailed engineering reports for internal and external stakeholders. Decision Making: Strong decision-making skills are required as you will often need to make impactful decisions in the field. Communication & Collaboration: You will provide technical advice and produce reports for customers and internal teams, working closely with contractors and engineers. Equipment Supported: Experience with systems such as Hull Mounted Sonar, Electro Optical Surveillance, Platform Data Management, and other naval systems is crucial. Qualifications & Experience: HNC/HND or higher in Electronics, Electrical, or Electro-mechanical Engineering. Proven experience with naval systems installation, commissioning, and fault diagnosis. Familiarity with formal acceptance of naval systems is an advantage. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and solid engineering skills. Valid UK driving license.
